On September 30, 2022, led by Dean Li Yuanyuan, Professor Fang Zhijun, Professor Gao Yongbin, Teacher Jiang Xiaoyan and Professor Su Xiaoyu went to Sinopec Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. - Shanghai Geophysical Branch for visiting and exchanges.

The meeting was chaired by Li Bin, general manager of Geophysical Company, and delivered a welcome speech. Subsequently, Feng Qikun, the company's technical leader, introduced the company's overview, main business scope and oil exploration operation process, as well as the company's transformation and development plan. Sinopec Geophysical Exploration Branch is the earliest professional team engaged in marine exploration established in China, and is the first team in China to go abroad, the deepest in China, the deepest exploration depth, the longest towed cable and the highest exploration latitude. Discovery 6 is currently responsible for the main tow cable tasks. The company plans to make breakthroughs in marine geophysical exploration and marine drilling technology, and expand its business in oilfield technical services and wind power technical services.

Professor Gao Yongbin introduced the overview of the school and the college, as well as the main achievements of the college in artificial intelligence, machine vision, intelligent manufacturing, digital transformation and other aspects in recent years, and combined with rich enterprise cases, it aroused enthusiastic response.

Subsequently, the two sides had an in-depth exchange on the cooperation content of artificial intelligence in the field of oil exploration. General Manager Li Bin said that Geophysical is looking forward to in-depth cooperation with the Academy to promote enterprise energy efficiency optimization and digital transformation. Zhang Yibiao, deputy general manager and chief engineer, said that the two sides can first cooperate in intelligent operation and maintenance of equipment and intelligent monitoring of employee behavior norms.

Professor Fang Zhijun pointed out that oil exploration instruments with independent intellectual property rights are of great importance to national interests, and the two sides should take solving the "stuck neck" problem in the field of oil exploration as the starting point of cooperation.

Finally, Dean Li Yuanyuan made a summary and pointed out that the school has made scientific research efforts in aviation, meteorology, intelligent manufacturing and other aspects and achieved important results, and is ready to deepen its efforts in smart ocean exploration.
